Hi guys, this post is about a food but not any kind of food, is the one type of fusion coisine: nikkei.
Nikkei food is a mix between Japanese and Peruvian cuisine. It is possible that it existed a long time ago, but for me it's a nice news. Recently, I discovered it in a restaurant that specializes in this combination that is close to my house and has managed to bring together the two types of kitchens that I like the most. The name of the restaurant is Inari and I arrived to him for the sushi. It´s currently my favorite restaurant.
Although I have tried to make sushi several times, I think I don´t have much skills for that. I copied some recipes but I am not satisfied with my performance. My speciality in food still making "survival food"... and grilling too. I think I need a lot of practice to expand my repertoire of recipes. Fortunately, in my family there are good cooks... I let myself be loved and enjoy home cooking without the problems. Pantrucas, Cazuela or humitas are foods that I love and that I would like to learn in the near future.

Foucault
Hello mates, today I am going to talk about a subject I've enjoyed studying this semester. It is a subject about the french philosopher Michael Foucault.
Although I knew something of Foucault's work, the truth is that he had very general ideas about what he wrote. I started with some insecurity, especilly because the name of the subject seemed to be dense: Power and politics in Foucault.
In classes, the professor began explaining the trajectory of the work of the French author, starting with the "History of madness in the classical period", which was his doctoral work. Then we learned about the stages of this work, which are divided into three: archaeological, genealogical and ethical.
Each of these stages is very interesting becasuse they open new questions to the study of human sciences and knowledge. On the archaeological stage, the focus of the meaning changed to who enunciates that discourse; in genealogy, he ask about power and its relation to knowledge; and in ethics, new questions are opened about self-care and will.
While i learned the general framework of this philosopher, what I learned best is that I have a lot to read and study to understand it well!

Yeah!
Hi everyone, today I will talk about a type of music that I like. First, it's important to indicate that this post won't cover everything that pleases me musically, because I have different tastes. I will talk the music of my adolescence and that still it's my favorite: metal.
I started listening to metal about ten years old, influenced by my older brother. However the first bands I heared were "little metal", it was "glam rock", like Poison, Motley Crue, and others like that. At that time, without Internet, we only had access to re-recorded cassettes. Basically, I listened to what my brother brought home.
Over time, the style of music was more and more heavy. entering 'heavy metal', like Iron Maiden, 'death metal', like Sepultura, and 'thrash metal', like Metallica and Slayer (Tom Araya, in the photo, is the voccalist and bassist in Slayer). These bands, and others like Megadeth, were my favorites for years. I went to many concerts, I had long hair and I wore black shirts.
Over the years, I began to explore others styles and, particularly, I like 'classic rock' and progressive rock'. From there I explored 'progressive metal'. I think it's my favorite style. I listen in this moment Dream Theather, I love them!

Santiago Castro-Gómez
Today I will talk about an expert on my field area that I admire. His name is Santiago Castro-Gómez, is a Colombian philosopher. He is a professor at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana and director on Pensar Institute in Bogotá, Colombia.
Castro-Gómez studied Philosophy at Santo Tomás University in Bogotá, Colombia and, subsequently, he received M.A and Ph.D in Philosophy in Germany. In his career this author has written about many themes, for example, effects of racism, colonization in Colombia and Latin America and others. In Castro-Gómez's work we can watch alternatives develop to dominant approaches in Latin America philosophy.
However I am not a philosopher, his work moves in the border area to many disciplines, like history, sociology, cultural studies and my discipline, anthropology. I admire his ideas about distinction modernity/coloniality and the "hybris of zero point". I discovered very recently, consequently, I would read a lot to have a better idea about his work. I am in this challenge now!

Weaving the wool....
In the picture, you can see a weaving tradicional mapuche 'utral or witral' (loom). She was working with 'peinecillo' and 'llano' techniques. Despite working within industrial wool, the colorful and the 'ñimin' (design) are very original, so that is why this work I believe is very interesting. With this picture I remember my stay and my work in the Alto Biobio. I stayed for a year in this place and begun my career how anthropologist. For this reason, this picture has a emotional value for me.

Conguillio, the heaven on the earth
The first time that I went to Conguillio I was three years old. I don't remember anything about this travel but my family always talked wonder things about this place. So much so that we went again when I was twelve years old. Only with the road, I was impressed with the beautiful landscape.
The national park of Conguillio is located in the Araucanía, Chile. This is a protected area, but you can go to visit it for a day and, even, camp there. My family and I camped for fifteen days in 1994. We walked for nature trails and went to all tours with the park rangers. They showed us the many kinds of trees, the birds and its songs, and many others wonders of this place.
I returned to the park last year. Many things have changed, like had more people, had trash in the nature trails and poor place to camp. However, if you can go to Conguillio, you won't regret it.

My faithful companion
When I think about one piece of technology that is important for me, the first thing that comes to my mind is the computer.
Since I entered the university, even before, access and use of the computer has been a neccesity to carry out my work. Although, being honest, I have been using it since a long time ago to play videogame. The first computer that arrived at my house when I was ten years old. That was my first approach.
However, the main use that I give to the computer is work, such as writing reports or emails, reviewing cientific articles, I also see press and sports pages and sniff social networks, such as Facebook. Except on weekends, I use it daily.
Currently, the computer is my window to the world, to information and comunication with the others persons. I like the computer because of the great variety of things you can do with it. I can't imagine not having access to a computer. In fact, I think I would have to rethink almost everything if I didn't have one. I don't think it's possible to go back to the typewriter and paper letters!

Became an Anthropologist...
When I was a child I didn´t know what to study. Usually, I said "I want to be a lawyer", because that was accepted for my family. However, when I started my primary school (even before...) I discovered the maps and flags. I love them! Subsequently I discovered the history and gradually the social science and also delighted with the social and cultural diversity.
Therefore, when I finished the school, I chose to study social anthropology. My dream was, basically, understand the "human nature". Today, I don´t believe that exist. Even further, my study have helped me grow and have found suitable ways to research with respect. Currently, I am a researcher in education and, I hope, must continue to be!

My auto biography
I was born in Santiago in 1982 and I have always lived in this city. I am the middle of three siblings, I have one older brother and younger sister. We lived together with my parents and my maternal grandmother. Nona, as my grandmom were referred to by her family, died some years ago. This event was a tough challenge for us.
My siblings and I studied in the same school for elementary and secondary education in a school in San Miguel. In those time, we lived in a big house and lived carefree. Since those days, I begun to play soccer. Really, I played any sports with a ball. Currently, still like the sports but I don´t have time to practice any.

I safeguard my personal information very jealosly in all social networks. Maybe, because I am a quiet (or antisocial) person or i prefer the real interaction, i unusually share my personal information or activities with a circle of acquaintances. Even now, for example, I don´t share a lot things with my extended family, because I am always late to the whatapp's conversations. When i watch the chat's conversations, pictures and others things, the time when i could write or respond is gone...
Really, this is a problem for me. Sometimes, people think I don´t' care for them... Also, some friends include me in the whatsapp's groups and my participation is poor. Despite this, my favorite social media is Facebook. Although i don't share pictures or contents, I enjoy watching memes or humorous pages. I am a phantom of the social networks!
